The perspective of the KHARUGU Project is to enhance the worldwide demand of Namibian minerals by improving working conditions for Small Miners and the natural Environment.

The vision of the KHARUGU Project was to establish a realistic solution to improve the working conditions and quality of everyone involved in the Namibian Small Miner Industry by starting in the  Erongo Region."

The partnership with the German DEG www & develoPPP.de program made this worldwide unique Project in the mining Industry possible.

The tremendous success of the project and more information is on display at our Shop in Omaruru. It is the SMALL MINERS PORTAL where we offer certified gemstones, minerals, specimens and jewellery.

At our 200m2 Shop we have a transparent database of over 500 registered small Miners and over 2000 certified  items on display for sale

We extended the value chain from “100% Namibian only “ rough stone to cutting /polishing to the manufacturing of amazing Jewellery by various local Goldsmiths

Employment and Training had been extended from the Small Mining activity to every other possible job opportunity and which is a first time ever in this Industry

The direct effect is responsible mining, by avoiding unnecessary stress and damage to the environment, major improvements for the Small miners by applying safety and health standards and creating more jobs.

The Small Miners Shop in Omaruru is  operating as an outlet to the public by representing more than 200 registered Small Miners

Small Miners participating successfully in the Training courses of the Project  received a “Certificate of Quality Mining” . That has directly and indirectly improved the working conditions for over 2000 Women and Men in the Erongo region."

During the 3 year Project   we ensured contributions to Transport and Food expenses for all participating Small Miners to the various Venues.  400 Small Miners received the “Certificate of Quality Mining “ additional  Overalls and Safety accessories."

The KHARUGU Project represents a beacon of hope for Namibia’s mining sector, combining environmental responsibility, social upliftment, and economic advancement. As global markets turn their attention to Namibia’s rich resources, this initiative promises a brighter, more sustainable future for small-scale miners.

From May 14th 2021 Small Miners will have excess to Hire Tooling , Machinery and Experts for efficient mining. The Kharugu Project “Tools and Machinery program“ is aimed to directly improve daily working conditions  and therefore allow quicker rehabilitation of the Environment and landscape. 

The reimbursement for the delivery, servicing machinery and  resulting tool repair  or replacement will be based on  the circumstances and ability of the Individual team of Small Miner.

Various additional Social media covering via adds and updates  in the local Newspapers, our own KHARUGU Whatsapp group and participating by international Exhibition will ensure to  attract as many Small Miners in Namibia as possible.

In turn it will improve the confidence of the international market to give their attention to the extensively improved mining activities in this beautiful Country of Namibia.
